A workshop held from November 2-4, 2010 in La Jolla (USA) sought to advance the process of identifying Ecologically and Biologically Significant Areas (EBSAs) in the Arctic marine environment. The workshop produced a set of maps depicting 77 Arctic marine EBSAs, as well as 13 “Super EBSAs” based on internationally accepted criteria developed under the auspices of CBD.
